The most frequent question we get is, “how does this work?”
Well, like any great story, a good production has a beginning, middle, and end.
But no two stories are exactly the same.
Every phase of production is important, from our very first meeting to the moment we deliver your final product. Look for a production team that values collaboration - not just at the beginning of your project, but all the way through.
THE BEGINNING: Pre-Production
Different videos require different levels of pre-production. For some projects, pre-production could be as simple as writing an outline, developing interview questions or talking points for the on-screen talent, writing a script, or scouting a location.
For other videos, it may be a more intricate process that involves storyboarding - literally drawing out each shot so that our clients and production team alike can picture what each shot is going to look like before we ever hit record.
Some Items to Consider in Pre-Production:
Have you clearly defined your goals? What audience are you trying to reach? On what platform? With what message?
Are we filming in a location (i.e. a park, museum, public land) that might require a permit?
Do we need release forms for people who will be appearing in the videos?
Our team can help you navigate these questions and more pre-production logistics!
THE MIDDLE: Production
The majority of our projects happen on what we call “location”. That is, in a place familiar to and convenient for our clients - their offices, in their hospitals or classrooms, or at one of their many attractions.
But every now and then, a client needs a custom environment - one where imagination takes over, and that’s where studio productions come in.
Whether you would rather film “on-location” or “in-studio”, our team is experienced in traveling the world to meet you where you are, or creating a world all your own.
THE END: Post-Production
The final phase may be the most important of all - the edit. That’s where the imagination and the execution becomes one. The magic happens when we carefully mix the images we filmed with mood-setting music, graphics to supplement your message, and your critical feedback - all of the important elements necessary to ensure that your vision has become a reality.
Some Items to Consider in Post-Production:
What platform will your video be hosted on? A video for your website may be formatted different than one for Instagram.
Could your product or service be better demonstrated through the use of character animation or motion graphics?
Editing takes time and often several rounds of revisions. Work together to determine a schedule for editing your video.
Communication is key, and our team will be with you every step of the way to push your video across the finish line!
